Students at Waller Elementary in Bossier City, Louisiana now have two 3-D printers, an animation studio, a laptop, camera, and all the other materials they need for their brand new STEAM Maker Space.
“One of the main goals in a STEAM classroom and a Maker Space is to think outside the box,” Christy Bucker, explained.
Bucker is the STEAM Facilitator for the Bossier Parish school system, and recent winner of One Class at a Time.
“We are not giving too many directions,” Bucker said. “The teacher is a facilitator. They give some parameters and then the kids get to use their creativity.”
