Fab Lab Connect started out with the idea that helping Fab Lab development was helping the word to change, for the better. And every time we see an example of a Fab Lab helping giving people a better life, we overjoyed – whether the innovation came out of one of our Fab Lab or not!
And we LOVE to share those stories with everybody. Here is one…
Nicolas Huchet had a dream: to be a drummer. But at 18, he lost his hand and the prosthetic he got was only made to do one movement. More advanced choices, bionic hands, were worth tens of thousands of euros, and out of his reach.
But one day, Nicolas open the door of a Fab Lab. He observed all they were doing and finally asked the people there if they could make him a hand with all they got. That’s how the project started: with Yohann – who became his associate – they made a first hand. After this successful experience, they decided to share what they could do to help other, and that is how My Human Kit was born. To make it bigger, they join – and won – a Google Innovation Challenge that allowed them to dream bigger, and develop more ideas, now all over the world
You can read about all their project on their website, and for those of you who speak French, here is the video they made for the Google Innovation Challenge
