Taipei, Feb. 29 (CNA) The Ministry of Education’s Fab Truck program that aims to promote 3D technology among high school students will have taken six mobile digital fabrication laboratories to 500 campuses by the end of this year, ministry officials said Monday.
The program, launched in 2014, had reached 194 high school and vocational school campuses by the end of last year, helping narrow the “digital divide” between rural and urban schools, they said.
This year, the six Fab Trucks will carry 3D printing-related equipment such as CNC milling machines, laser cutters and accessories and materials to 308 more campuses around the country to achieve the ministry’s target of visiting 502 schools.
