At Cergy-Pontoise University, just outside of Paris, the FabLab, called FacLab just created a Fab Lab Facilitator diploma. The curriculum includes :
• how to use the machines and tools you can find in a Fab Lab,
• how to attract, entertain and keep a user community
• the basics of intellectual property laws, and open-source specificities
• how to assist users to develop their project, and the key aspects to learning by doing
The goal being that the graduates are eventually able to run a Fab Lab!
The course is open to all and consist of 70 of in-class teaching, and 40 hours of practice under supervision in a FabLab
