On Wednesday, Kickstarter announced it was set to present The Future Fablab, which is described as a collection of machines that turn digital dreams into physical reality, at World Maker Faire 2016 at the New York Hall of Science this weekend (October 1st and 2nd).
While revealing details about The Future Fablab, the funding portal revealed in a blog post:
“This diverse array of Kickstarted technology translates processes typically found on factory floors to your desktop, automating everything from circuit-board assembly to metal cutting. We’re honored to be working with this wildly innovative group of creators and can’t wait to see what new projects makers create — and maybe even Kickstart — with their marvelous inventions.”
The Future Fablab will showcase various Kickstarter projects, including:
Wazer: a desktop waterjet cutter. It is currently seeking funds on the crowdfunding platform and has already secured $1.1 million from nearly 850 backers.
Mayku: A desktop vacuum that is described as quicker than a 3D printer. The project secured $588,775 from 1745 backers during its funding run on Kickstarter.Read More…
