It has been a week since the Virtual Reality Summit, and still have pictures and knowledge to share with you. One of the keynotes we attended was The Coming Of The Immersive Web, presented by the very inspirational Tony Parisi, VP of Web and Open Technologies at Wevr.
Tony started off talking about the large investment in Virtual Reality, that is mostly happening in video game related projects.
He continued with the friction existing in this sector:
-App Store should not control journalist data
-Challenge to differentiate between reality and VR
But from his point of view, the web is the solution to those challenges. The web fosters collaboration and open source: one can publish live right away. And there are still much more websites than apps see slide for data. That is why immersive Web should be the future of virtual reality, and not apps.
