It has been another very full day at the Javits Convention Center! Not only the RoboUniverse and Inside 3D-Printing conferences captivated us, but the Virtual Reality Summit also started. Over the course of the day, we learned a lot, and we thought we would share some of that new knowledge with you!
The conference VR and Education: 21st Century Jobs Require 21st Century Education and Tools was definitely an interesting one, and right up Fab Lab Connect’s alley!
The speakers were:
• Brenda Grell, Faculty, Washington State University, Vancouver’s CMDC Department
• Pete Johnson, VP of Business Development, zSpace Inc.
• Josh Maldonado, CEO and Founder, Discovr Labs
• Adriana Vela, Founder & Chair, NanoTecNexus
Each panelist stressed the importance of experiential learning made possible by Virtual Reality, and gave a lot of detail on how to use it properly as an educational tool, especially for STEM.
