FAB CITY SUMMIT 2018 is an encouragement to become locally productive and globally connected through collaboration and disruptive technologies. Fab City aims to transform the way we consume and produce almost anything in cities, making them more sustainable and resilient, by enabling local production and global collaboration using traditional knowledge and advanced technologies.
The 2018 Fab City Summit in Paris is the opening event of FAB14+, the annual international gathering of the fab lab network (more than 1200 members) that will happen in France for the first time. The Fab City Summit from July 11-13 will be followed by the Fab Distributed all over France, July 14th and 15th, and the FAB14 Main event in Toulouse, France – the 14th International Fab Lab Meeting July 16-22 at the Pierre Baudis Convention Center.
The Fab City Summit opens with an invitation-only event, for city leaders. Wednesday July 11th, FAB CITY LAB is an international event organized by the City of Paris and the European Commission, in collaboration with the Fab City Grand Paris Association and the Fab City Global Initiative.
The Fab City Lab will gather local political leaders, experts in innovation ecosystems and companies. Together they will share experiences and best practice around concrete projects to demonstrate our collective commitment to the Fab City movement.
On Thursday July 12th and Friday 13th, for the FAB CITY CONFERENCE, Public Institutions, Industry and Society meet in Paris to define the path towards the future of Productive Cities. Professionals gather for two days of inspirations and networking to shape a common vision of the Fab City Movement. Keynotes, Conferences, Meet-ups, Masterclasses and Workshops and more.
From the 14th to the 22nd of July, FAB CITY CAMPUS is a free event for families, exploring productive cities in a hands-on, fun environment.
A short-term intervention that will showcase local and international experiences and prototypes of Fab Cities, it will include exhibitions, workshops for citizens and guided tours of local Fab Labs and makerspaces involved in the Fab City project.
