One of today’s #Fab13 Sessions is “Teaching Digital Fabrication in Alternative and Special Education”!
Intermediate Unit 1 (IU1) is a leader in equity in STEM education for alternative and special education students. Upon implementation of a Fab Lab, which was funded through the Chevron Corporation, IU1 was able to provide opportunities to explore innovative educational STEM opportunities for alternative and special education population in which we serve. In this session, participants will learn about digital fabrication tools used to enhance STEM learning for students of all learning abilities. Topic include Fab Lab education, partnerships, and the impact on local community, world, and students.
Workshop Tutor Brandon Prentice a technology educator, mentor, and manager for the IU1 Fab Lab program.
