VR Gallery – Fresh off debuting its virtual reality app, 3D-model platform Sketchfab has launched another tool that lets you harness the power of VR, this time by integrating Instagram.
Instamuseum takes the photos in your Instagram feed and, with one click, turns those images into a fully realized VR gallery that you or your friends can tour.
The site gives you several different museum types to choose from, including The Louvre, Art Gallery (the best option), Wall and Cube. Once you enter the Instagram handle (yours or someone else’s), the site takes about three to four minutes to produce a link to a VR gallery hosted on Sketchfab’s site. From that site you can share or embed the VR gallery in a website.
Up to 12 images can be displayed, and once you view the gallery through a VR viewer like Cardboard, it’s almost like being in a real location in which the spotlight is on whichever Instagram feed you’ve selected. Read More...
